Zebrands is a group of brands specializing in different areas. Specifically, the software development team is currently facing an urgent need to improve the performance management of its employees. The team has been relying on Jira for agile project development, but it has revealed significant limitations in visualizing and understanding performance data. This has led to confusion and ineffective retrospectives. As a result, employees lack awareness of areas for continuous improvement, leading to delays in work progress.
Solution
To deliver the solution, we implemented a waterfall work methodology. This methodology divided our project into a series of steps, ensuring that we could not move forward to a specific step until its predecessors were 100% complete. The steps included analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
Analysis
Created a context diagram to map system interactions with external actors.
Developed use case and activity diagrams for a step-by-step understanding of user interactions.
Defined business rules and generated a user persona based on client meetings.
Design
Led the creation of both low-fidelity and high-fidelity designs and prototypes in Figma.
Advocated for the use of the Atlassian Design System for familiarity and user-friendly experience.
Established an entity-relationship model and data dictionary for structured data management.
Implementation
Coded using Node.js, React, TypeScript, Express, and Tailwind CSS.
Took the lead as a full-stack developer.
Facilitated understanding of React through pair programming sessions.
Testing
Conducted comprehensive testing after 1.5 months of coding.
Included unit testing, integration testing, and heuristic testing.
Ensured application stability, reliability, and early bug detection and resolution.
